Sony to stop using Dual Shock design

Sony to stop using dual Shock design for its new Playstation 4

A senior game studio that is currently working on a new game for the upcoming Playstation 4 says that the oh so familiar Sony DualShock controller has been through a lot of changes the last few months. The original Playstation controller was first introduced to us back in 1994 and it’s design hasn’t changed since (we have seen some quality improvements, specially on the game pads R1, R2, L1 and L2) saying we are most likely going to see a new redesigned controller coming to the Playstation 4 (codename “Orbis”)

The new controller is supposedly going to get several improvements like biometric sensors and a LCD touch screen. The technology the controller will provide is already in the PS Vita, the touch screen, biometric sensors etc. adopting the WiiU style of gaming. Allowing to control the menu through the touch-screen game pad but playing the game on your TV.

Have you seen Sony’s new Hybrid controller patent? Read all about it here

Wat do you think, will you still buy a Playstation if they change the controller? Do you think they should improve it? Let us know!
